Go wild and forage!

At Cardross, with the surrounding views, landscapes and historic villages, there is never a shortage of things to do. Sometimes the best things to do are on your doorstep. Here, we are lucky enough to be home to the lovely Lauren Lochrie of Herbal Homestead. Lauren is a zoologist, beekeeper and all-round plants wonder woman with many years’ of experience in outdoor education.

If you are staying in one of our luxury glamping pods or self catering holiday cottages, and want to slow down, tune in to the seasonal abundance and be amazed at what’s underfoot and all around! Then come and explore the beautiful and varied on Cardross and join Lauren on a seasonal foraging walk.

You can expect to learn about:
– Plant & fungi identification and habitat cues
– Exploring traditional and modern uses of native plants and mushrooms
– Trying pre-prepared foraged nibbles, teas and remedies
– Follow up recipes and identification guides
Lauren is happy to take a couples or groups up to 12 people and the walks can be tailored to cater for corporate groups too.

Lauren can also offer so much more than walks from Homemade Workshops to cooking recipes. A true hidden gem of knowledge.
