We donned our wellies and armed with hot chocolate and home baking we were delighted to find such an array of pumpkins to pick! Our neighbours, the McEwen family at Arnprior Farm will open Scotland’s premier pumpkin patch this Fri 12th October and Cardross Estate was fortunate enough to get an preview.
Last year a staggering 6000 people visited the farm and with a bumper crop of pumpkins due to a great summer, we’re sure it’s set to increase! As well as picking your own delicious pumpkins, the patch also offers visitors the chance to try their hand at farming and the kids love digging their own potatoes and pulling turnips from the ground and you’ll also find local artisan food and drinks. This is just one of the many things to do in this lovely area.
The Pumpkin Patch is open until the end of October and if you wanted to come and stay in one of our lovely cottages, this would be a fun way to spend a beautiful autumnal day!
